I had intended to knit a lace pattern in acrylic to lighten the weight, but the rug cried for a stranded colour pattern [in wool]!
Here's what I wrote in the book:
As you wrap this blanket around youHere's the rug so far [spread out over two circular needles]
or snuggle under its comforting warmth
draw strength and courage from the love knitted into every stitch.

And here's a close up of the last three knitters' work:

Thanks, Joy, for allowing me to be part of this.

Oh, it looks so pretty! Nice row, Lynne :)
Lynne, the hearts are the perfect addition. The rug is looking fantastic!
Ooooooh so CUTE!!!! Well done on that big stretch of tiny hearts - it looks so amazing!! I am really looking forward to getting it back at the end to donate now, it will be wonderful checking out everyone's work IRL.
It arrived today - well done everyone so far - it's lovely.
I am guessing that I will have to do lace Lynne....fanks! I hate lace. (Not really - just not very good at it). Off to scour the Stitch Dictionary to find something that will look just right.
It looks beautiful doesn't it. What a wonderful treasure it will be.
